Xiaolu Fu and Jun-Seo Bae won the first titles of the Muju Taekwondowon 2026 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series on 5 September. Fu defeated You-Yun Liu 2-0 in the W-49 final, while Bae closed the M-58 programme with a 2-1 victory over Tae-Joon Park.

Xiaolu Fu won W-49 and Jun-Seo Bae took M-58 as the Muju opener produced a 2-1 Park–Dell’Aquila rematch and two completed title paths.
Xiaolu Fu and Jun-Seo Bae won the first titles of the Muju Taekwondowon 2026 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series on 5 September. Fu defeated You-Yun Liu 2-0 in the W-49 final, while Bae closed the M-58 programme with a 2-1 victory over Tae-Joon Park.
The opening day resolved two of the event’s eight Olympic categories. W-57, W-67 and M-80 follow on day two; W+67, M-68 and M+80 complete the programme. The W+67 field includes Sarah Chaâri, who remains scheduled for the final day.
Xiaolu Fu reached the W-49 semi-finals without conceding a round, beating Farah Touzani, Jana Khattab and Milana Bekulova 2-0. She then came through a 2-1 all-Chinese semi-final against Jingyue Ma before sweeping You-Yun Liu in the final. Liu had also gone through her three contested bouts 2-0, including the other semi-final against Aidana Kumartayeva.
The bracket removed two established W-49 names before the medal rounds. Adriana Cerezo Iglesias opened with a 2-0 win but lost 2-1 to Jingyue Ma in the round of 16. Daniela Paola Souza went out 2-1 to Jana Khattab in the round of 32.
In M-58, Jun-Seo Bae defeated Abolfazl Zandi 2-1 in the round of 16, then recorded 2-0 wins over Josip Teskera and Eunsu Seo before taking the final 2-1. Tae-Joon Park reached that contest by beating Vito Dell’Aquila 2-1 in the semi-finals. The result reversed their quarter-final at the Roma 2026 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series, where Dell’Aquila won 2-0 during his title run.
Dell’Aquila had reached the Muju semi-finals with three consecutive 2-0 wins. Elsewhere in M-58, Gashim Magomedov won his opening contest 2-0 before Ja’Afar Aldaoud eliminated him 2-1 in the round of 16.
Under the published G-6 scale, the opening champions earn 60 ranking points, the finalists 36 and the two semi-finalists in each category 21.6. The remaining six categories will be decided across 6–7 September, with the linked TAEKWONDO.TV tournament page providing the running bracket context.
