Brazil’s world champion Maria Clara PACHECO won her third straight Grand Prix Series title on Saturday, 10 October, beating Jordan’s Fadia KHIRFAN 2–0 in the women’s −57kg final at the Paris 2026 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series.
Hungary’s Paris 2024 Olympic champion Viviana MARTON won another gold in the city at −67kg, while South Korea’s Jinho MUN followed his Muju title with victory at −68kg. The three finals brought the second day to a close at the Palais des Sports Marcel Cerdan in Levallois-Perret.
Pacheco arrived with this year’s Rome and Muju titles already secured. Paris extended that run through four bouts, all won 2–0, as she added another Grand Prix gold to the −57kg world title she took in Wuxi last year.
Her route to the final included France’s Kanélya CARABIN in the round of 16, Iran’s Nahid KIYANICHANDEH in the quarter-final and Kazakhstan’s Mariya SEVOSTYANOVA in the semi-final. Khirfan then became the fourth opponent unable to take a round from the Brazilian.
Khirfan had reached the final with a 2–0 semi-final win over the United States’ Faith DILLON. Dillon and Sevostyanova finished with bronze.
Two years after her Olympic title, Márton added Paris Grand Prix gold to her Rome victory earlier this season, beating Côte d’Ivoire’s Ruth GBAGBI 2–1 in the women’s −67kg final.
Márton’s first four bouts had all ended 2–0, including her quarter-final against Ecuador’s Mell MINA and semi-final against Uzbekistan’s Ozoda SOBIRJONOVA. Gbagbi took the final to three rounds before Márton secured the title.
Gbagbi had beaten Greece’s Styliani MARENTAKI 2–0 in the semi-final. Marentaki and Sobirjonova took the bronze medals.
Mun, the −68kg winner in Muju on 7 September, made it consecutive Grand Prix Series titles with a 2–0 final victory over Uzbekistan’s Najmiddin KOSIMKHOJIEV.
An all-Korean semi-final had gone to three rounds, with Mun beating Jun JANG 2–1 after a 2–0 quarter-final win over Brazil’s Edival PONTES. Jang had earlier beaten Türkiye’s Berkay ERER 2–1 in the quarter-final.
Kosimkhojiev had beaten Hungary’s Omar Gergely SALIM 2–1 in the quarter-final before advancing past Jordan’s Zaid KAREEM in the semi-final. Kareem and Jang finished with bronze.
Iran remains the only nation with two gold medals after six titles have been decided; Great Britain, Brazil, Hungary and South Korea have one each. The Grand Prix concludes on Sunday, 11 October. Follow the remaining Paris Grand Prix brackets and results on TAEKWONDO.TV.
